Bathroom Remodel Timeline: What to Expect Week by Week

How long does a bathroom remodel really take? A realistic week-by-week timeline from demo to final walkthrough for San Jose homeowners.

A full bathroom renovation in San Jose typically takes 3–6 weeks of on-site work, plus 4–8 weeks of design and material lead time beforehand. Here's how the schedule breaks down.

Weeks 1–2: Demo & rough-in

We protect floors and pathways, tear out existing finishes, and expose the framing. Plumbing and electrical are moved to their new locations, then inspected before we close walls.

Weeks 3–4: Waterproofing, tile & fixtures

Shower pans are built and waterproofed, cement board goes up, and tile installation begins. This is the most visually satisfying phase — the bathroom finally starts to look like your renderings.

Weeks 5–6: Finish carpentry & punch list

Vanities, mirrors, glass shower enclosures, hardware, and paint. We finish with a detailed punch list walkthrough so nothing is left half-done.
